FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT WILL MY FIRST TREATMENT BE LIKE?
WHAT DO I WEAR?
On the first visit you will complete a confidential health history as part of your assessment. Your massage therapist will assess your individual needs as well as other factors that may be contributing to your injury or condition. The RMT will develop a treatment plan with you to ensure you receive appropriate treatment. The treatment plan can be changed at any time and will be reassessed at an appropriate time. You have no obligation to undergo any part of a treatment. Your treatment will begin once you have given your informed consent. This involves setting realistic goals for treatment, discussing possible risks to treatment, and being informed of alternative care options.
HOW DO I ENSURE MY MASSAGE WILL BE AS COMFORTABLE AS POSSIBLE?
Your massage therapist will leave the room for you to prepare for your treatment. You are welcome to undress to a level you are comfortable with. You will be fully covered by a sheet and blanket, and only the body part being treated will be undraped. If you would like to be clothed during treatment, an over-the-clothes treatment can be done, though skin-on-skin contact is best.
WHAT DO I DO IF I AM SICK?
Communication is key!
Your therapist will check in with you during your treatment to make sure that you are happy with the pressure being used. Please let me know if you want deeper or lighter pressure at any time-- this is YOUR time.
Stay home! If you can, I appreciate you cancelling your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. I understand that there are circumstances that are unexpected, so the cancellation fee may be waived.
